Current and Former Students

If you are enrolled in one of my classes, the best way to contact me with quick questions is via my UW email address. For longer conversations, I encourage you to attend social hours or schedule an appointment to meet with me (see your syllabus). You don’t have to have specific questions to meet with me — we can also use this opportunity to get to know each another, chat about psychology, trade book recommendations, etc.

Former students are also welcome to email me. I delight in receiving updates from previous students and learning about your adventures and successes.

If you are thinking about asking me for a letter of recommendation, consider whether I currently know you well enough to brag about your many positive qualities. If you have taken only large lecture classes with me and we have not interacted directly, I probably don’t know you well. Some ways for me to get to know you include: attending social hours and office hours, taking a small seminar class with me, working with me 1:1 as a peer tutor or on an independent study project, and getting involved in the mentoring program.
