Hi, I’m Tabitha.
I’m an Associate Teaching Professor of Psychology at the University of Washington. I specialize in happiness and emotional intelligence, and I’ve spent years immersed in the science of what helps people flourish.
I’ve also lived the experience of feeling completely overwhelmed by modern expectations of motherhood, people-pleasing, and hustle culture, not to mention the day-to-day exhaustion of parenting.
This year, I took a break from paid work, which gave me space to reflect on my values and intentions. In this space, I started running. And I started writing.
Now, I’m actively constructing the life that I want, one small choice at a time.
Outside of work, I love going for long runs with an audiobook, cooking, singing, playing in the water, working with clay, hosting dinner parties, traveling, and getting quality time with my family.
